NU is committed in contributing to human resource development through innovation, research and technological advancements in order to serve the community. The interaction and linkage with industries and professional bodies extends to human intellectual reach and is a key to Oman’s competitiveness, innovation and economic development. To make engineering education holistic and more relevant to the societal and industry needs, the students from technical institutions need to be offered training in industries to give them first hand practical exposure in addition to the theoretical themes they receive at the college.
Placement and Alumni Relation Office is committed to support students and Alumni with various opportunities available of internship and placement opportunities that will enhance their technical skills and practice related to their specialization of studies to Provide Highly Professional Service for Engineering Students for all Engineering Program including:
- The Internship as it is an opportunity to gain relevant skills, build industry knowledge and gain some exposure to work and is an integral part of the curriculum.
- Optional Training in Industries including level 2.
- Compulsory Internship / Experiential Training to all undergraduate and postgraduate students registered and studying at NU. In order to obtain a training request letter for various sectors and institutions, trainee must fill out the training link through the QR code link.
- International Internship to all undergraduate and postgraduate students registered and studying at NU.
- Eidaad Program (for all Engineering programs) 1-year industrial Training program that aims to narrow the gap between industry and academia. Sponsors by PDO Company and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI).
- Site visit to different industries.
- Guests lecture from different industries.
- Career Guidance in coordination with the academic departments, provides career guidance to the students and alumni and publishing the career guidance schedule and disseminating it among the students and alumni.
- Placement and Alumni Relation incharge and related to graduates student training, placement and career guidance.
- Employment Support as the department constantly liaise with potential recruiters and inform students of job opportunities to share Information from the companies he students via a notification on the student portal, text messages, and/or email.
- Graduate Destinations and Alumni Relations Department keep a record of its recent graduates and alumni, Alumni data, consisting of information related to the phone number, email, postal Address, and employment details, shall be maintained online.
- Annual Careers Fair a joint event for all NU students, graduates, and alumni, and, therefore, is a joint effort from all NU colleges. To be conducts during March or April each year.
