Industry Interaction

Exposure to real-life situations is the main stay of student training at CoE. The objective is to allow students an opportunity to see and experience for themselves the routine activities of fellow professionals. Where possible, they are allowed an opportunity to participate in such activities. Summer placement is one such opportunity for students to experience the work environment they are likely to come across on completion of training.

The curriculum has credit bearing course that include one month training at construction site, consulting firm, municipalities or other private or government institution. Further, students used to visit the industry to collect data for their coursework and final year projects. In addition to credit bearing course, international internship is also available for top students which give them skills and practical experience on engineering practice in foreign countries. The opportunity is available for Bachelor graduates or those who wish to exit with diploma after year 2.

The students are also encouraged to do voluntary or additional training at engineering companies during summer vacation and the college is supporting them to find proper industry for training and provide them with formal letter if requested. International students can do the compulsory or voluntary training either in Oman or in their home countries.
