About this program

The Asset and Maintenance Management program provides students with a thorough knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of asset and maintenance management. The program prepares graduates with new knowledge and competencies that are required by maintenance engineers and managers in oil and gas industries, petrochemical plants, refineries, power sectors, public and private infrastructures and other industries. Besides graduated students will be prepared to occupy leadership positions in the asset and maintenance industry as well as have research capabilities and skills in academia. The program curriculum consists of a set of fundamental knowledge courses and modern topics needed in the dynamic maintenance management environment including courses like facility management, maintenance strategies, machine condition monitoring, energy efficiency and reliability analysis. The graduates will have a deep, concrete understanding of advanced topics through two elective courses that will enable them to face future challenges and update with recent advances.

Awards

  • Students who complete 30 credit hours will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Asset and Maintenance Management awarded by National University.
  • Students who complete 45 credit hours will be awarded a Master of Science in Asset and Maintenance Management awarded by National University.

The acquired skills empower students to excel as senior managers in various asset and maintenance industries and government organizations, including the positions of Maintenance Manager-Assets, Maintenance Engineer- operations, Grid Automation Application Engineer- Load Dispatch Centre, Faculty of Engineering- University/ Institutes, Development and Project Manager , Technical Consultant, Senior Manager in Asset Engineering, Operation Manager, Maintenance Engineer- Rotating equipment, Vibration and control Engineer, Energy asset Engineer, Operations Planner. Further, graduates could pursue PhD programs in the relevant area.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering including mechanical, Process Operation and Maintenance, Mechatronics and Electrical program from an internationally recognized university with a minimum of second class Degree or above.
  • Applicants must have a CGPA of not less than “GOOD” or equivalent. A passing grade will be accepted if the candidate has at least two years of experience in their field of specialization.
  • Candidates from other disciplines with a minimum of second class Degree or above may be considered case by case if they have relevant work experience is not less than 3 years.
  • All applicants irrespective of the GPA should have to successfully pass a one to one interview with the program manager.
  • Minimum of IELTS band 6.0 or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 (213 for computer-based test). Students with IELTS band 5.0 – 5.5 will also be considered subject to successful completion of PQP1/PQP2 course conducted by the university.
  • Experienced students with a diploma or advanced diploma will also be considered as per the MoHERI regulations
