About this program

The MSc Mechatroleum program is an innovative interdisciplinary course combining principles of mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, and emerging technologies to address the evolving needs of the energy sector. Core courses include Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics for Oil and Gas, Smart Drilling & Optimization, and Smart Well Integrity Management. Awards

  • Students who complete a minimum of 30 credit hours will be awarded Postgraduate Diploma in Mechatroleum Engineering.
  • Students who complete 45 credit hours will be awarded Master of Science Degree in Mechatroleum Engineering.

Entry Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field, including bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering/ Process Operations and Maintenance, Oil and Gas Engineering/ or in a related engineering or science discipline from a recognized university.
  • Candidates from other disciplines may be required to attend a formal qualifying interview to demonstrate equivalent academic ability based on relevant industrial experience or membership in a professional body/institution.
  • A CGPA of 2.00 and above / GOOD (Second Class) or equivalent is required. A passing grade is accepted, provided that the candidate has at least two (2) years of experience in the field of specialization or an equivalent qualification from an acceptable overseas institution.
  • All applicants irrespective of the GPA must successfully pass aa one-on-one interview with the program manager.
  • A minimum IELTS band score of 6.0 or a TOEFL score of at least 550 (213 for the computer-based test) is required. Students with an IELTS band score of 5.0 – 5.5 will also be considered, subject to successful completion of the PQP1/PQP2 course conducted by the university.
