Workshop on “Engineering Ethics and Practices in Manufacturing and Process Industries”

A workshop on Engineering Ethics and Practices in Manufacturing and Process Industries was organized by the department of Mechanical and Industrial engineering, College of Engineering, National University of Science and Technology on 15th March 2022 for the benefit of the student community.  This workshop was presented by Engineer Dhinesh Kumar Vasudevan, Consultant, Larsen & Tourbo, India.

The workshop covered the various aspects of engineering ethics, Engg ethics & legal issues, social responsibility, two dimensions of ethics in engineering, types of engineering ethics, professional employee rights and various aspect of engineering practices in manufacturing and process industries.  It was a highly informative session for the benefits of the student’s community particularly for the level 4 students.

More than 75 students and staff participated in this event. Professor Sudhir C V welcomed the gatherings and conveyed a message that engineering ethics and practices are equally important in addition to the technical knowledge for a healthy environment both for the individual and the work station.  Dr Saravanan A M concluded the event by summarizing the content of the presentation and the essential tools for being a successful engineer.
