Dissolution Tests are conducted to determine the drug release patterns, physiological availability and bioavailability of formulated drug products. It is also used as a quality control tool. The Dissolution rate of a drug from the solid state is defined as the amount of drug substance that goes into solution per unit time under standardised conditions of liquid / solid interface, temperature, and solvent composition.

UV-1900 UV-VIS spectrophotometer

UV-1900 UV-VIS spectrophotometer is equipped with an ultrafast scan function that enables data acquisition in 29,000nm/min (it takes about three seconds to measure in visible region.), the fastest level in the industry.  Connecting this instrument with Shimadzu’s analysis data management system provides integrated data management with various analysis instruments, in an environment compatible with guidelines and regulations related to electronic records and electronic signatures.

Flame photometer

Microcontroller Flame Photometer is an instrument for the determination of sodium, Potassium, Calcium and Lithium concentrations in the sample solution to the level of ppm. It consists of the main instrument compartment that needs to be connected to gas inlet to get the flame of work. The instrument comes with a connected air compressor to provide the required pressure in the instrument. The sample solution is aspirated through an automizer. Sample, air and the fuel are mixed in the mixing chamber which is then sprayed as a very fine mist into the flame. The colour of the flame is changed depending upon the concentration of elements present. The system also contains a photodetector to detect the radiated flame.  The output of the photodetector is then processed by the microcontroller and the final results are displayed on the digital display.

Bottom Pouring Type Stir Casting Machine- For MMC in Al

The Bottom Pouring Type Stir Casting Machine designed for Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) production in aluminum alloys is a specialized apparatus that facilitates the precise and controlled casting of molten metal matrix composites. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), a comprehensible microprocessor based dedicated computer, carrying out control operations of various levels of complexity, is applied for monitoring critical process parameters and constraints for adjusting process operations. It is used expansively because it is simple to set up and do ladder program, behaves expectedly and has rugged characteristics. In the automation lab, we have PLC -Scientech 2400B and Ladder Programming software. The PLC can be used to do research work in automation and control area for any application. The testing of program can be carried out using this kit before the system is going to implement in real time basis at industry.
