New Staff through Orientation Programme

The College of Engineering at the National University of Science and Technology hosted a distinguished group of newly appointed academic staff in an orientation workshop held on Thursday, 25 September 2025, at the Conference Hall on the Caledonian campus. The program, organized by the Department of Professional Development and Humanities, extended over half a day and brought together eleven new full-time and part-time employees. The workshop was designed to introduce the newcomers to the University’s mission and values, and to facilitate their integration into its academic and administrative community.

The workshop commenced with a welcome by Professor Ahmed Hassan Al Balushi, Dean of the College of Engineering, setting the tone for the day. Key sessions included insights into staff academic roles, duties, and performance expectations, as well as guidance on HR policies and the staff code of conduct, in line with the University’s guidelines. This detailed orientation was facilitated by Professor Sudhir CV, Assistant Dean of Academics. Professor Syed Moh’d Rizwan, Assistant Dean of Research, highlighted research and professional development opportunities available to staff. Practical briefings were also provided on IT services, library resources, and health, safety, and environment protocols.

The day-long programme concluded with an open discussion, enabling participants to share reflections and feedback. The orientation successfully equipped new staff with essential knowledge, resources, and institutional support, ensuring their smooth transition into the University’s vibrant academic environment.
