General Education Diploma or equivalent with a grade not less than (65%) Grade C or equivalent in the following subjects put together

The proposed Diploma exit opportunity is mainly for the students who are enrolled to the existing four-year degree program. The Diploma is awarded after the completion of 66 credits of undergraduate work listed in the curriculum including compulsory industry orientation programme and Internship. This Diploma program provides principal learning in a Mechanical Engineering field, intended to lead students directly to a job or prepare them for continuing their studies towards bachelor’s degree on later date when they return back to the university.

Students after successful completion of diploma and if they meet the set academic grades can apply for continuing their studies for BEng/ BTech degree program in the same chosen field of study or any other relevant field at NU or any other Higher Education Institutions.

The College of Engineering has strong collaboration with local and regional industries like Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), National Innovation Academy, National Aluminium Products Company, Oman Chlorine Company, Asian Paints, Occidental Oman, Oman Fiber Optic Company, Jotun Paints, Shell Oman, Oman gas company, Tebodin, Bio Products Oman SAOC, Galfar, Aspen Technology Inc. The collaborating industries offer support to our students by providing industrial internship opportunities, and site visits, sharing real-world insights by facilitating guest lecturers and workshops, and participating in career fairs. The industry link will ensure our students are equipped with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge by exposing them to the use of sophisticated and specialist equipment during site visits and similar opportunities. The students are encouraged to undergo international internships in the affiliates / collaborating university.
