About this program

This is a specialized and unique diploma that enable students to study and work on three domains (Information Technology, Business, Management and Finance). This program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage IT resources in business organizations. The programme is designed to have a combination of courses such, computer networks, programming, database management, Integrated projects, cloud computing, business ethics and so many other subjects. One of the award requirements is that students are expected not only to pass the required courses but also to achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.

Program Objectives:

  • Provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to equip them for a career in developing, deploying and supporting computer-based IT systems for business.
  • Provide students with a good understanding of the technical and business concepts, processes, methods, and tools used to provide IT systems that support business processes. Enable students to develop a cultural understanding of the IT requirements of contemporary business and to be able to communicate these to both technical and non-technical professionals.
  • Develop the ability to apply sound design principles and practical skills to solve problems across various domains.
  • Enable students to acquire good analytical, synthetic, and communication skills.
  • Enable students to take responsibility for their learning as they progress through the program.
    Assist the student in developing the skills required to adapt to changing technological and organisational developments and learn new skills.
  • Equip students with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Provide opportunities to further develop practical, personal and professional core skills in a work-based environment.

Admission Requirements/Admission Criteria:

  • Pass in General Certificate Diploma or equivalent with grade not less than “C” with the following subjects:A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (12 th Standard) with minimum
  • Mathematics and English and pass in the University Entrance test.

Work Opportunity

The diploma graduates of the ITMB program will have an opportunity to work as a technician, business support, finance support in IT or related areas.  They can also work in industries such as Finance, Healthcare, Banking, and government sectors.

Program Articulation:

Students after successful completion of diploma and if they meet the set academic grades can apply for continuing their studies for BSc/ BEng degree program in the same chosen field of study or any other relevant field at  NU or any other Higher  Education Institutions.
