Symposium on “Oman Logistics Day Symposium”

This knowledge-sharing seminar aims to raise awareness about the value of logistics management to a national economy and its visibility in a country. This enables businesses to better control costs, create efficiencies, spot supply chain problems, conduct demand planning, and gain insights into opportunities. In addition, the participants will celebrate Oman’s achievements in the logistics industry to date and AI applications.

The organizers believe this symposium will provide an excellent opportunity to generate awareness among students, alumni, and delegates about the supply chain. This symposium is expected to enhance and motivate students, alumni, and society to contribute to Oman Vision 2024. In addition, it will encourage students, alums, and industrialists to improve their practices and the quality of dissertations for graduating students.

The Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof Ahmed Al Balushi, opines that this event will enable our students to enhance their technical skills and competencies and build confidence in their practical work, a perfect and healthy capacity-building environment.

He added that the MSc in International Operations and Supply Chain Management Programme and related research groups operating within the College of Engineering at the National University play a pivotal role in shaping the newly graduating logistics specialists towards professional supply chain discipline. Moreover, this knowledge sharing is very significant for the country, as it has the potential to generate employment opportunities in the field of supply chain management in the industries and contribute to the Oman GDP growth. The symposium is scheduled for 30th April 2024 at the College of Engineering of National University, Al Hail campus, from 9:00 am – 11.00 am onwards in the Conference Hall.
