A “MDSOLIDS software for Level 2 Engineering Mechanics students” workshop was organized on 30th November and 7th December 2023. This workshop aimed to improve understanding of analyzing practical engineering mechanics problems and enhance software skills for solving real-time engineering mechanics problems. This workshop involved two hours of theoretical sessions and two hours of hands-on training in the lab using MDSOLIDS software. Topics for the workshop included the analysis of beams, including shear force and bending moment diagrams, along with the analysis of plane trusses. This has not only improved the students’ understanding but is also expected to support enhancing students’ technical skills and competencies while improving the quality of Level Four technical projects.

Dr Dinesh K. Kaithari and Dr Parimal S. Bhambare facilitated the workshop with Mr Abdulshafi Mohammed Al Abri from the MIE department. A total of 20 Level 2 students have attended this workshop and benefitted.
