Oman Vision 2040 has entrepreneurship and innovation development as one of its pillars, and the College is committed to translating this vision into graduate Projects and thus accelerating innovation and commercialization for the benefit of society. This workshop allowed undergraduate engineering students to familiarize themselves with applying entrepreneurship knowledge to their level 4 projects considering UN Sustainable Development Goals and Oman Vision 2040. Fifty-one students from across the different COE and NU programs attended the workshop through the Entrepreneurs and Innovators’ Club. The workshop concentrated on translating Basic entrepreneurship and innovation skills into Entrepreneurship and SME development visualization, building on the ideas of others.

It also highlighted System thinking, thinking outside the box, and finding solutions to meet Oman’s vision for 2040 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals through innovation and, thus, the entrepreneurial culture in Oman.

The workshop was packed with fun activities and competitions where students had to develop innovative solutions. Five teams won prizes. The groups which won had very creative, innovative ideas based on improving current products and services, and these were an injection for babies with an electronic sound system,  a smartwatch, a building scanner, an employment website for job seekers, and a treadmill. Momentum was very high amongst students.

The feedback from the participants was very positive, and the workshop was highly appreciated. Five students testified their appreciation of this workshop and its great unique value.
