About the program

The MSc in Process Plant Technology and Management program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary for managerial roles in various process industries. Tailored for professionals with a bachelor’s degree in process, chemical, marine, or mechanical engineering, as well as related fields of science and engineering, the program focuses on advanced applications of technology in process and manufacturing industries. By combining process technology with managerial skills, students explore areas such as  process control & troubleshooting, process intensification, sustainability, big data analytics and artificial intelligence in the process industry, project management, economics and financial management, business management for engineers, and logistics and supply chain management.

  • Onshore and offshore exploration and production of oil and gas
  • Petrochemical and refining, chemical, and agricultural manufacturing

Entry Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering including Process Engineering, Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Industrial engineering, Process Operation and Maintenance, Environmental, Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering and other program/discipline that are directly related.
  • Minimum of IELTS band 6.0 or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 (213 for computer-based test). Students with IELTS band 5.0 – 5.5 will also be considered subject to successful completion of PQP1/PQP2 course conducted by the university.
  • Candidates from other disciplines and with a minimum of second-class Degree or above may be considered case by case if they have the necessary work experience in relevant field related to the program for at least 2 years.
  • Experienced students with a diploma or advanced diploma will also be considered as per the MoHERI regulations.
  • Candidates from other disciplines with a minimum of second-class Degree or above may be considered case by case if they have the necessary work experience in relevant field related to the proposed program for at least 2 years. The other disciplines that may include the following but not restricted to:
    • Petroleum Engineering

    • Oil & Gas Engineering,

    • Well  Engineering

    • Agriculture Engineering

    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering

    • Offshore/Ocean Engineering

Awards

  • Students who successfully complete 33 credit hours will be awarded Postgraduate Diploma in Process Plant Technology and Management.
  • Students who successfully complete 45 credit hours will be awarded Master of Science in Process Plant Technology and Management.

Fees: RO 7,425/-

Mode of Study: Full Time / Part Time (Flexible  sessions)
