In IMCO, we firmly believe that engaging in research and scholarly activities is of paramount importance for individuals, institutions, and societies alike. Research not only empowers faculty members to remain at the forefront of advancements in their respective fields but also plays a significant role in enhancing the reputation of the University and contributing to societal sustainable development.
Aligned with NU’s vision and mission, IMCO has identified strategic objectives to steer its research endeavors. These objectives include creating an environment conducive to knowledge production, increasing faculty and student involvement in research, fostering collaborations and partnerships with industry and government entities, enhancing research infrastructure and facilities to support cutting-edge research initiatives, cultivating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through mentorship programs, workshops, and seminars, addressing challenges through research projects that have practical applications and social relevance, and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of research initiatives through performance metrics and continuous improvement.
IMCO has established six research groups dedicated to investigating specialized areas within maritime, energy, logistics, and process engineering. These research groups play a key role in propelling the research agenda of IMCO forward, serving as catalysts for attracting external funding from both industry and government sources. They also function as platforms for fostering knowledge exchange and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty members.
Looking ahead, the College is poised to introduce the Master of Science in Process Plant Technology and Management, thereby enriching its academic offerings, and advancing its research agenda in alignment with NU’s strategic objectives.
