On this landmark occasion of dedicating the National University of Science & Technology to the people of Oman, I feel extremely proud to be a member of the University community. I am sure the University will follow the illustrious path of the former Caledonian College of Engineering and the Oman Medical College and will endeavor to reach new frontiers of excellence.
I salute the vision of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, May Allah rest him in the abodes of the pious and righteous in Paradise transforming the education sector in Oman to benefit its citizen and positioning Oman as an attractive destination for Higher Education.
I recall with pride my long association with the founders of National University, an institution which is a manifestation of their deep commitment to the growth of the Sultanate in general and the education sector in particular.
The National University is destined to become a leading professional higher education provider in the region focusing on Medicine, Engineering and Pharmacy.
