This committee is responsible for formulating and developing short and long term research plans and strategies for achieving the research goals of the University.
Initiate and develop the University Research Strategy & plans and oversee their implementation.
Nourish and develop a research environment and identify core research groups within the NU colleges.
Initiate and encourage interdisciplinary research projects among NU faculties
Initiate and oversee the effectiveness of the external/international research collaboration.
Monitor and review the progress and implementation of operational plans including KPIs of research at the University
Foster & oversee research collaborations with other universities, public and private sectors for mutual benefits
Oversee the development of policies, procedures, and processes necessary for conducting the research and to monitor their implementation.
Consider and review the proposals for external presentation of research outcomes and scholarly activities of the staff and students, and to advise on possible support from the University.
Identify & establish research and development priorities including potential new areas of research Explore opportunities for funded research and consultancy projects and monitor their progress.
Review and report on the effectiveness of approach to research and scholarly activities across the university through various means including research reports and annual review process.
Monitor and oversee the quality of research activities and review annual quality assurance reports from each college.
Monitor Research Ethics and the implementation of the IPR Policy across the University.
Encourage students’ involvement in research projects and teaching research nexus
Develop and formulate action plans of intensification and enhancement of research & innovation activities
Prepare an annual report
