Career Services

National University (NU) aims to help undergraduate students to make a successful transition to PG or Research Courses within the University or any other Universities abroad or into employment or any further training in local companies. The careers information offers a wide range of career and employer literature for reference available at Student Services or at Careers Fairs conducted by constituent colleges within NU.

Careers Opportunities

Careers Fair events are annually held which bring together employers from the private, public and state sectors allowing the students ample opportunities to scout for careers in a wide variety of disciplines.

The event also enables companies to meet students and to interview and recruit the best outgoing engineers for possible employment, training or short-term placements. The fair will also facilitate discussion between the students and employers for appropriate placement or training opportunities. Prospective employers will also be able to obtain in-depth information regarding the programs and specializations offered by the NU and the profile of the graduates qualifying each year.

Careers Fair & Campus Interview

The event Careers Fair brings a number of employers to the College and allows the students to discuss career opportunities in a wide variety of disciplines. It also provides an opportunity for the student to explore the job possibilities in the market and also enables the employers to arrange campus interviews to recruit qualified students from the University. The Careers Fair also opens up the possibility of summer placements in the industry.

Pre–Employment Guidance

Pre-employment guidance will help you in the quest of finding the right kind of job and to sharpen your skills or strengthen your weak areas before taking up a job. Career Advisers at NU will help you to arrive at the best possible career option available.

Summer Placements / Training

NU helps the student to effectively use their summer holidays by placing them with local companies to obtain hands–on experience and to understand real – life work situations. This will also enable the students to apply the classroom knowledge to real-life work situations.

The summer placements also help to provide practical and work based training projects in order to bridge the gap between theory and practical. All students who wish to be placed should apply to Student Services, and depending upon the availability, will be placed in one of various organisations in Oman.

In addition, Student Affairs entity, within NU constituent colleges, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the well-being of students during their stay at the University.
