OAAA Accreditation

Constituent Colleges under NU have bagged many awards & recognition over the years in pursuit of achieving excellence in engineering education and themes of national interest.

Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) officially announced the outcome of College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) application for Institutional Standards Assessment (ISA) on 5th April 2018. The OAAA announced that CCE is fully accredited by satisfying all standards, adhering to international standards and practices. This announcement made College of Engineering the 1st Engineering College to receive this remarkable outcome.

Academic Accreditations

IET Accreditation

The Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK has accredited 7 engineering Honours degree programmes run by College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) for 5 years from 2017 to 2022 (including all intakes to these programmes from the AY 2013).

CIOB Accreditation

BSc Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering programmes are accredited by Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), UK in October 2018 for a period of 5 years from 2012 to 2016. BSc Measurement and Cost Engineering programme is accredited by CIOB for a period of 5 years from 2016 to 2022.

BETT Educational Leadership Award

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) was internationally recognized for leadership in education at the recent British Education and Training Technology (BETT) Awards, held in partnership with Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC). The award ceremony took place on 25th – 26th, April 2017 in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of H H Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Outstanding performance by NU with 3 Amazing Awards in GHEDEX Academic Awards for Excellence in Education 2023

The National University of Science and Technology (NU), Oman, has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Zairi International Award for Excellence in THE (Research Impact Category).

National University has won 1st Place in Health & Wellbeing category and a 2nd Award for NU achievement in the QS Arab Ranking, at the GHEDEX Future Skills & HRD Awards Conference 2023.

NU has been shortlisted for the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Award 2022

National University won the Best of Best Award in Oman and 3 GHEDEX 2022 Awards of Excellence

NU Student bags best research Paper Award at the 4th Middle East College Student Conference 2019

NU students won the Omani Youth Researcher award

CoE students’ Team bags 1st Place at NBO Innovation in SME Award

Best Educational Initiative in Entrepreneurship

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) won the Riyada Award for Best Educational Initiative in Entrepreneurship in 2016.

International prize for Best College

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) received the ‘International prize for Best College’ at the “Socrates Award ceremony” for leading position in educational sphere at the International “Science and education competition” at Oxford UK in 2013.

Green Education Awards

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) won the “Green Education Award 2011, 2012, 2013 & special commendation in 2014” by Oman Economic Review.

Asia Award

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) won Asia Award for the Best Educational Institution in Engineering by the World Education Congress in 2011.

Best Educational Brand

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) was selected as the ‘Best Brand among Private Colleges’ by Business Today Group in 2011.

FURAP projects

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) won an award for the best research work in the Environmental and Biological Resources sector for the research work titled ‘Development of masonry blocks with waste paper, lime and industrial waste spent catalyst’ under the Faculty-Mentored UG research award program (FURAP) by The Research Council, Oman for the year 2016.

College of Engineering (Formerly Caledonian College of Engineering) won the first prize and award for best integrated theatrical performance for its play “the Closed Doors” in 2014.
