Optimization Studies of Quantitative Analysis and Extraction of Copper & Quartz from Rocks in Oman

Oman is one of the earliest countries which started mining, exported minerals, particularly copper to Mesopotamia for more than 2000 years BC, known as Majan or the land of copper. This research focus on extraction of copper which is a metal mineral widely found in Oman in different locations along Al-Hajar Mountains and quartz which is a silica oxide-based mineral. Experiments are conducted on rocks from Al-Mabrah which is a village in Al-Subway located in Al-Batinah region in the north-east side of Oman to study their copper and quartz contents and the feasibility of mining investment in the village

Major Objectives :

1)       Explore the potential locations in Oman for extraction of copper and quartz.

2)       Design and Development of extraction system for quantitative analysis of copper and quartz

3)       Perform quantitative analysis to check the contents of elements present in selected samples.
