National University of Science and Technology Meets Institutional Standards

The Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) has completed the Institutional Standards Assessment (ISA) for the National University of Science and Technology (NU). The results of the institutional accreditation and assessments against the established standards and criteria have been published on the OAAAQA website.

The National University of Science and Technology submitted its Institutional Standards Assessment (ISA) application on July 15, 2024. In response, the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) established an external review panel composed of qualified and experienced local and international reviewers. During their visit to the university’s campus from November 9 to 15, 2024, which included a day dedicated to the panel’s deliberations before conducting interviews, the team interviewed over 362 individuals. This group included representatives from the university’s governance departments, staff, students, and external stakeholders. Additionally, the team reviewed a variety of supplementary evidence and supporting materials.

The OAAAQA Board approved the NU’s Institutional Standards Assessment (ISA) Report on May 4, 2025. The University received a copy of this report; however, it will not be made available to the public, as it is a restricted circulation document distributed solely to members of the OAAAQA Board of Directors and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. As a result of the ISA process, the National University of Science and Technology has been “Accredited” and granted to join the list of higher education institutions previously accredited by the Authority. A complete list of institutions that have received institutional accreditation can be found on the Authority’s website: www.oaaaqa.gov.om.
