National University Celebrates 54th Oman National Day with Great Fervor

The College of Advanced Technology and the College of Engineering, National University of Science and Technology (NU) jointly celebrated the 54th Oman National Day on 18th November 2024 at the Caledonian Campus, Al Hail, Oman. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant display of national pride and cultural unity.

Dressed in traditional Omani attire and adorned with the national colors, the participants exchanged sweets and delicacies, embodying the spirit of togetherness and gratitude. The celebration commenced with an inspiring address by Dr. Ahmed Al Balushi, Dean of the College of Engineering, who reflected on Oman’s remarkable journey of progress since the Renaissance. He paid tribute to the nation’s visionary leadership, urging students to uphold the legacy and contribute to Oman’s bright future.

The highlight of the event was a skit performed by the Drama Club, depicting the transformative journey of Oman and the immense strides made in education, infrastructure, and social development. The narrative struck a chord with the audience, evoking pride and appreciation for the Sultanate’s achievements. Adding a dynamic touch to the festivities, the Riyada Club organized an Entrepreneurs Fair where budding student entrepreneurs showcased their innovative products and ideas. Their enthusiasm and creativity underscored their potential to emerge as future business leaders.

Stalls set up by various academic departments, administrative units, and student groups added a festive charm to the celebration. The Deans of both colleges visited the stalls, applauding the efforts and creativity of the participants.
