The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CoMHS-Sohar), National University of Science and Technology (NU), signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Aster Al Raffah Hospitals and Clinics, establishing a strategic partnership aimed at advancing healthcare through joint professional development, collaborative research, and community outreach initiatives.
The signing ceremony took place at Aster Al Raffah Hospital in Sohar on 7th August 2025 at 10:00 AM, in the presence of senior officials from both institutions. Representing NU were Prof Mohammed Al Shafaee, Dean, and Dr Nasser Al Nazwani, Assistant Dean (Preclinical Affairs). Aster Al Raffah was represented by Dr Jaikishan, Chief Operating Officer, and the Guest of Honour, Prof Gabriel Rodrigues, Senior Consultant and Laparoscopic Surgeon.
This agreement emphasizes cooperation in areas such as joint workshops and training programs, continuing professional development (CPD) activities, community health awareness campaigns, and shared research projects. Both institutions are committed to contributing to the advancement of healthcare knowledge and practice in Oman through meaningful and sustainable collaboration.
Additionally, senior faculty members from Aster Al Raffah with recognized experience in teaching at accredited medical institutions may be engaged in the teaching and clinical training of students at the College, based on mutually agreed schedules and subject to availability.
The event concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation and a reaffirmation of both parties’ commitment to initiating the agreed activities promptly.
