Exploring the use of AI based personalized learning in Higher education in Oman

Artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed a number of industries, and it is having a huge impact on education—particularly on personalized learning. By meeting each student’s specific needs, preferences for learning, and aptitudes, personalized learning seeks to improve students’ academic performance. By offering flexible and customized methods that improve student engagement, learning effectiveness, and overall educational experiences, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have the potential to completely change conventional educational models. This research investigate the main advantages and difficulties of artificial intelligence (AI) in personalized learning. The research delves into the range of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven instruments and methodologies employed in customized learning settings, including recommendation engines, adaptive assessments, and intelligent tutoring systems. While using AI in tailored learning has many advantages, there are drawbacks as well. To guarantee the ethical and responsible use of these technologies, privacy issues, ethical issues, and potential biases in AI algorithms must be properly addressed. In order to fully utilize AI tools, teachers must be trained, have access to high-quality data, and have a suitable infrastructure.

Objectives:

• Conducting a systematic literature review about AI for personalized learning in higher education.
• Understand student and staff perspectives in relation to AI in Higher Education.
• Evaluate and compare various AI based tools used for personalize learning in higher education.
