The problem of water pollution due to industrial waste is attaining greater importance day by day. Nature’s built-in-mechanisms and self-regulation ability have been thrown out of gear by the quantity and the complexity of wastewater generated by industries. As a consequence of increased scientific knowledge and an expanded information base, wastewater treatment has begun to focus on the health concerns related to toxic and potentially toxic chemicals released to the environment.
Major Objectives :
1) Physico-chemical analysis of domestic and industrial effluents and study on its pollution impacts.
2) Experimentation in the continuous degradation of effluents using a two stage Up-low Anaerobic Sludge Blanket – Fixed Bed Reactor under different experimental conditions.
3) To analyze the percentage reduction of organic pollutants and heavy metals on various samples.
4) To analyze the percentage reduction of COD, BOD, TSS, TDS on various domestic and industrial wastewater samples.
5) Optimization of process parameters in the removal of heavy metals and organic pollutants.
