CALL 24 NU Research Grant (NRG)

The NU Research Grant (NRG) program is designed to provide significant support for research grants and research development activities, including research leave and external research visits. This is a unique opportunity for our faculty and students to enhance their research capabilities and contribute to the academic community. We are excited to announce the openingof application for NRG-Call 24.

1.Applications are invited from Faculty & Students for CALL-24 NRG – Internal Research Projects

Staff Eligibility: (i) The Principal Investigator must be a full-time academic member of the University with PhD qualification (ii) Co-PI or Co-Investigator can be a PhD or Master’s Degree holder (iii) Academic staffs who are already associated as a PI with ongoing funded projects are not eligible to apply until that project is completed (iv) Medical Doctors with a Masters Degree can apply for Internal Research Grant Online Submission on or before: 30th September 2024

Student Eligibility: (i) A research team comprising of 2-3 University students is eligible to apply (ii) The team leader should be a student enrolled in an undergraduate (Full time only) / Masters’ program at NU (iii) The team should have a full-time faculty of NU as a supervisor for the project (iv) Student’s GPA should be more than 2.50 or equivalent (v) The applicant must complete at least second-year courses of UG programs / an enrolled student of Master level program Online submission on or before 10th October 2024

2.Applications from Faculty for International Joint Research Projects

The Joint Research Grant program with international partners aims to promote collaborative research across disciplines and universities, enhancing the output and quality of research. This grant initiative’s main aim is to facilitate partnerships.

General framework: (i) Consent of both NU (college) and the Partner University (letter of intent or support) (ii) The total funding could be 10,000 USD or above for each project based on the availability of the budget. (iii) Project budget contributions from the partner university could be in the form of direct cash or inkind contributions, but not less than 25% of the total budget (iv) A detailed research agreement for each project will be developed after the final approval which will be duly signed by the authorities of both Institutions covering various aspects including budget utilization, responsibilities, ownership, and IPR, etc. Last date for receiving the initial application (to DGSR office): 20th October 2024

3.Applications from faculty for Research Leave & Research Visit Program

Research leave & External Research Visit Program: NU provides financial support to researchers for external engagement, training in advanced research labs, and research knowledge exchange activities under external research visit program. The primary purpose of research leave is to enable academics to give emphasis and attend their research and to allow the production of peer-reviewed publications, writing research proposals, and external engagement.

General Information: (i) The eligibility criteria and general procedures are attached herewith ( RI Guidelines) (ii) Complete the relevant RI forms ( RI Form 12 for Research visits and RI Form 13 for Research leave). (iii) The application must be supported with a letter of support detailing justification and deliverables (iv) The completed application form, along with relevant supporting documents must be approved by the College Graduate Studies, Research & Innovation committee and the Dean of the college. (v) All applications shall undergo thorough internal scrutiny and evaluation process (vi) The final approval of the application by the Chair of UGSRI shall be based on the ranking and availability of the budget .
The last date for receiving the application by the office of the DGSR is 6th November 2024
