A study of Covid-19 pandemic stress amongst university students and effectiveness of online Cognitive exercises as intervention for stress coping

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought into focus the mental health of various affected populations, with the World Health Organization also expressing its concern over the pandemic’s mental health and psycho-social consequences. While many studies have been carried out on mental health issues, most have focussed on health workers, patients and the general population, with scant literature on college students, who are known to be a vulnerable population. This project aims to assess the impact on students since pandemic-related stress may lead to deleterious effects on learning. Mental health interventions are urgently needed to minimize the psychological sequelae and provide timely care to affected individuals.

Major Objectives: (i) To identify the effect of the Covid- related stress on the Mental Health of University students (ii) To identify Resilience patterns amongst the students (iii) To assess the effectiveness of online Cognitive exercise in reducing the Covid- related stress.
