The problem of water pollution due to industrial waste is attaining greater importance day by day. As a consequence of increased scientific knowledge and an expanded information base, wastewater treatment has begun to focus on the health concerns related to toxic and potentially toxic chemicals released to the environment from the domestic and Industrial wastewater. These ill-effects can be controlled effectively, only when proper treatment system is adopted. This project paves the way forward for the minimization of desalinated water by saving lot of money spent on it.
Major Objectives:
(i) Physico-chemical analysis of industrial effluents of Textile, Pharmaceutical, electrochemical and metal industries in Oman and study on its pollution impacts. (ii) Experimentation in the continuous degradation of industrial effluents using an Aerobic Reactor under different experimental conditions. (iii) To analyse the percentage reduction of COD, BOD, TSS, TDS on various industrial wastewater samples. (iv) Study on temperature and pH effect.
