The Department of Pathology has a well-equipped laboratory that accommodates 40 students at a time. It has a departmental museum with representative gross surgical specimens both mounted in jars and wet specimens of various organ systems. Histopathology, cytology, and hematology teaching slides of common lesions are also available for learning.
The laboratory is equipped with latest audiovisual aids which includes the state of the art LCD projectors and sound system. Digital microscope with facilities for photography and projection of microscopic slides is also available. Attached to the main laboratory is a specimen preparation room for specimen mounting.
During the laboratory session, demonstration of Pathology gross surgical specimens and slides from histopathology and hematology related to various diseases are displayed. Under the guidance of experienced faculty, students learn about practical aspects of Pathology. Digital Pathology slides from online resources are also employed to familiarize them with the rare diseases.
