The School of Foundation Studies (SoFS) at Airport Heights held a CELTA graduation ceremony on May 27, 2025, at 1:30 PM, celebrating eight newly qualified English language teachers. The Cambridge-accredited CELTA equips educators with the skills to teach English worldwide.
Dr. Sleem Khalfan Al-Habsi, Director of SoFS, inaugurated the event and presented the certificates, urging graduates to uphold high standards in their teaching careers. Felicitation speeches were delivered by Mr. Ahammed Basheer Thekkeyil, Head of English & Study Skills, and Mr. Nelson P V, Senior Lecturer and CELTA Main Course Tutor, both commending the participants’ dedication and growth.
Several course participants shared reflections on their CELTA journey, highlighting the program’s impact on their confidence and teaching practice. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Yashmin Mansuria, English Lecturer. The program was anchored by Ms. Anitra Hernandez, English Lecturer.
