SOFS commemorated Earth Day on April 30, 2024. This annual event witnessed active participation from both students and staff, underscoring a collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.

The proceedings commenced with a solemn recitation of the Holy Quran. Dr. Sleem Al Habsy, Director of SoFS extended a warm welcome to all attendees, and this was followed by an enlightening address by the esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Huda Al Hafifi. A series of thought-provoking speeches by environmental experts captivated the audience. These sessions aimed to instill a deeper understanding of environmental issues and inspire proactive measures among the student body. Integral to the day’s agenda was a robust recycling campaign, demonstrating practiced waste reduction and resource conservation steps. Concurrently, a vibrant farmers market and a mini souq provided avenues for promoting sustainable consumption practices and supporting local producers. By engaging students in hands-on initiatives and educational discourse, the event underscored the significance of Earth Day and the imperative of safeguarding our planet for future generations.
