A Pediatric ECG Workshop was successfully conducted on Saturday, 16 May 2026, organized by the Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. The workshop brought together healthcare professionals and trainees for an intensive day of learning and practical training in pediatric electrocardiography.
The program focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of ECG interpretation, pediatric cardiac emergencies, and arrhythmia management. The workshop commenced with registration and a welcome session, followed by a pre-test to assess participants’ baseline knowledge.
Expert-led theory sessions covered essential topics including basic ECG concepts, pediatric ECG essentials, and common pediatric arrhythmias. The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Babu , Dr. Shivalingam and the simulation &clinical skills lab team.
Hands-on practical stations provided participants with direct experience in ECG acquisition and lead placement techniques, along with interactive case-based discussions on common pediatric cardiac emergencies. The workshop also featured an ECG Case Challenge, encouraging active participation and clinical reasoning among attendees.
The workshop was well received and highlighted the importance of continuous medical education and simulation-based training in improving pediatric cardiac care and emergency response skills.
