Welcome to the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the National University! Whether you’re browsing this site as an aspiring student, a concerned parent, a well-wisher, or a new member of our academic community, it is my privilege to introduce you to our college and the opportunities available here through my office.
Our vibrant community comprises academic faculty, dedicated staff, and students from across the globe, each contributing their unique cultures and traditions. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we are united by one shared goal: to ensure that everyone who enters our doors becomes a highly skilled and accomplished healthcare professional.
Training to become a doctor or any other healthcare professional involves extensive hands-on experience in clinical settings, such as hospitals, healthcare clinics, and even the homes of elderly patients. These immersive placements, alongside classroom learning, are a crucial part of your education. My office plays an essential role in coordinating these placements, ensuring that each student receives the appropriate training and exposure according to their level of study. In addition to medical knowledge, these patient encounters foster the development of soft skills and provide real-world experience with ethical issues, ensuring that all program learning objectives are met. For our MD program, we also facilitate clinical electives, both locally and internationally, giving students the opportunity to expand their horizons.
The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (COMHS) has campuses in Sohar and Rustaq, offering a welcoming environment where students can gather to study, relax, and socialize. Both campuses are located near Ministry of Health healthcare facilities, which are used for clinical training, giving students access to a wide range of resources to enrich their education.
Throughout the academic year, my office also organizes career guidance initiatives, helping medical students explore various opportunities and pathways in the healthcare field.
As of 2025, our college has proudly graduated 1,518 students and continues to foster strong connections with our alumni, offering valuable networking opportunities for both current students and graduates.
Our faculty members are highly experienced and dedicated to your success, alongside our committed staff, all working together to ensure a fulfilling and supportive learning experience. If you are a student at the College of Medicine, you can be confident that you will receive the necessary guidance and resources to fulfill your academic ambitions, building a strong foundation for your future career in healthcare.
