POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) Course

The Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, National University, successfully organized a two-day POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) Course held on May 22–23, 2026. The training brought together participants from different health institutions and varying professional levels, in addition to medical students, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.

The course was conducted at the Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab and focused on enhancing practical ultrasound skills through a combination of lectures, assessments, and hands-on training sessions. Topics covered included airway and breathing assessment, FAST examination, DVT assessment, hepatobiliary and renal ultrasound, echocardiography, aorta and IVC scanning, and the use of POCUS in shock assessment.

The sessions were led by Dr. Badar Al Hamrashdi alongside a team of instructors who supervised the practical workshops.
