Biography
Dr Mubarak Pasha, the founder Vice Chancellor of Sreenarayanaguru Open University, Government of Kerala has long association with the NU institutions. He was a Deputy Dean of Oman Medical College for more than 10 years and subsequently 2018 posted in Headquarter as the Head of Governance and Strategic Plan.
He began his career at Farook College as a lecturer and was later appointed as the Principal at the young age of 33, earning him the title of ‘the youngest principal of a premier postgraduate higher education institute in the country. He brought laurels to the college including the NAAC accreditation, the status of the College with Potential for Excellence, R Sankar Award for the best college and the international recognition from the Ford Foundation for a project under FAEA, New Delhi. He served the University of Calicut as the Director of College Development Council and the subsequently as the Director of School of Distance Education prior to his joining the Oman Medical College. He was in the office of strategic planning of the National University of Science and Technology in the capacity of the project lead. In 2020, he was appointed as the founder Vice Chancellor of Sreenarayanaguru Open University on the recommendation of the government of Kerala, and he continued there, till March 2024. His tenure as Vice Chancellor is noted for establishing a quality framework for education and training at the Open University. He has demonstrated exemplary credentials in academic and academic administration and earned appreciation.
