The “Engineering Industrial Internship” workshop was organized by the Mechanical and industrial Engineering department – on 22nd & 31st March 2022 for level 4 students of all programs. Final year internship students suffered a lot due to the pandemic situation (Covid-19). Most of the industries were not offering internship or offered for limited number of students only for safety issues but without an internship, a student cannot cover the learning outcomes of the module industrial Internship so, the main aim of this workshop was to provide students with the required skills on various industrial processes and current industry practices related to process design and operations also, HSE requirements by inviting industrial guest speakers from different industries.

Mr. Riyadh Ashoor
Process &Site Manager at SUEZ Al Bashaer LLC – Recycling and waste recovery – Oman. He gave a presentation on Engineering Industrial Internship he focusses on the importance of Industrial Internship at any organization. He sheared his experience with our students He talked about Activities & Organization of the company Suez He also, mentioned that there is a chance to arrange internship for our students
Eng. Abdullah AL-Siyabi
He has 23 years experience in the cement industry and as the head of section raw mills. He has MBA from Bedfordshire university (2018) & BSc In process Operation and Maintenance (Caledonian College of Engineering – 2010). He gave a presentation on Introduction to Cement Manufacturing. He discussed about Raw Materials and the steps of Manufacturing Cement.
Engineer Ala’a Al Jardani
Senior Planning Engineer. She has 11 years of experience in Engineering & Strategic project planning. Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Master’s in Process Technology. Certified Project Management Professional, PMP . She Gave a presentation on Project Management with example of Projects. She also discusses the difference between Project & Operation, Project Life cycle, Project Manager role and Project Management Knowledge areas.
Mr Ibrahim Issa Mohammed Al Balushi
There was an interview session with Mr. Ibrahim Issa Mohammed Al Balushi -Senior Lecturer – Professional Development & Humanities department. They discussion was about the importance of time management in any workplace, the benefits gained from the punctuality and how can the ethics effects in the workplace positively.
Haitham Al Kalbani
A principal process engineer in Daleel Petroleum. He has a 13 work experience in the field of process engineering through which he has been involved in projects ranging from early feasibility studies, through concept, FEED, Detail Design, construction, commissioning and operation stages in oil and gas processing and treatment as well as in produced water treatment. He Gave a presentation on the basics of produced water treatment. Discussed the sources of produced water in O&G, principles of produced water treatment also, He list some design and operational aspects of some of water treatment equipment.
Hikmat Saada
Working as Training & Assessment Specialist at Knowledge Grid Academy, Master of Mechanical Engineering, with
17 years of experience in education and training. Approved Trainer/Assessor/Internal Quality Assurer from many international awarding bodies in UK (IOSH, NEBOSH, EAL, City & Guilds)
He gave a presentation on HSE Requirements in Engineering Industry Discussed the Safety management system, Risk Assessment, Safety in Mechanical Engineering and Safety in Chemical Processes. He Suggested (Email) some topics for future events

Working at Exterran Middle East,
Diploma in oil and gas engineering – HCT & One of our SPT student in final year (Process Operation and Maintenance)
He gave a presentation on Gas processing plant. He discussed the Process Facilities, Separation and Compression also Mercury & H2S Removal, Dehydration, Cryogenic Plant and De- butanization.
