Computer Engineering Students Visit OQ MAF Site

Fifteen Level 4 Computer Engineering students visited OQ company on Wednesday, 17 May 2023. The visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of OQ’s operations and explore the facilities and key aspects of the petrochemical industry. The students had detailed discussions and interactions with various personnel.

OQ company is situated in Muscat, and its facilities are spread over a vast area. The site houses multiple production units, laboratories, administrative buildings, and storage facilities. The facilities are designed to meet international standards and adhere to stringent safety and environmental regulations. The site visit also helped students learn about OQ’s integrated energy operations, including upstream exploration and production, downstream refining and marketing, and petrochemical manufacturing.

The site visit to OQ Company provided valuable insights into the company’s integrated energy operations to the students. The College of Engineering appreciates the hospitality extended to the students during the visit and the useful information shared by the OQ team. Our sincere appreciation to the OQ staff and trainee members, especially Ms Najma Al Zadjali, Mr Khalid Al Sheyadi, Mr Anwar Al Jufaili, Mr Musallam Al Amri, Ms Rayan Al Taei, Ms Khulood Al Ghaithi, Mr Abdullah Al Kabi, Mr Waleed Al Hashmi and Mr Mohammed Al Siyabi, who were with the students during the visit. We also thank our alumnus,  Mr Adil Al Jabri, who was instrumental in arranging this visit.
