The College of Pharmacy (CoP) successfully conducted a two-day short course on “Building Trust in AI: Ethical Considerations for Healthcare Professionals” on 6–7 December 2025 as part of the community engagement initiatives. The course was initiated and designed by Prof. Mullaicharam AR and Dr. Yaman Kassab, College of Pharmacy, National University and was OMSB-CPD accredited for 5 points. 21 participants from various universities and institutions attended, gaining insights into AI applications, ethics, and responsible use in healthcare.

Day 1 covered Applications of AI in Healthcare: Opportunities and Future Adaptation, Ethical Issues in Healthcare AI, and Informed Consent and AI Data Privacy: Bridging Ethical Standards with Modern Technology, delivered by Prof. Mullaicharam, Dr. Shyam Sundar, and Dr. Yaman Kassab. Day 2 focused on Best Practices for Communicating AI Applications to Patients and Equity by Design: Mitigating Bias in AI, presented by Dr. Nasser Al-Nazwani, Prof. Murali RV, and Dr. Prashanth Gouda.

Participants gave excellent feedback, praising the practical relevance, clarity, and interactive nature of the sessions. The course provided healthcare professionals with essential knowledge to implement AI responsibly in clinical and pharmaceutical settings.
