The Department of Pharmacy Practice imparts courses in Clinical Pharmacy which help students learn how to provide better patient care and achieve effective health outcomes using safe and effective drug therapies.
These courses equip students with principles in medication therapy management, evidence-based medicine, medication reconciliation, Pharmaceutical care and patient counselling, drug information services, pharmacovigilance, Pharmacogenomics, periodic safety reports, clinical Research in disease management, and programs in health screening, community outreach and continuing Pharmacy education.
The Model Pharmacy is well equipped and role plays coupled with case studies help students learn, practice, and demonstrate the skills in providing better patient care. The students learn dispensing of prescription and OTC medications and how to conduct counselling sessions for patients with chronic health issues.
Faculty members in Department of Pharmacy practice are highly qualified, experienced and are committed to deliver quality education. They are also actively engaged in research and the research findings have been published in the Scopus and peer reviewed journals.
