The M.Sc. Program in Clinical Pharmacy is designed in academic partnership with West Virginia University (USA) to prepare professionally competent graduate students with deep subject knowledge and skills to match with the growing need of patient-centered pharmaceutical care services in Oman and abroad.
The program will enable the students to possess knowledge of the use of drugs, work as competent members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams for patient care, and correlate knowledge of drug therapy and disease conditions.
Obtaining the MSc degree in Clinical Pharmacy will provide students the competency to practice the profession effectively in a clinical pharmacy setting as a clinical practitioner involving medication management and pharmaceutical care.
The core courses will provide advanced knowledge and understanding of patient care services required in the healthcare delivery system. The clinical research methodology course will inculcate the skills of inquisitiveness, propose research questions and design, develop, and conduct meaningful clinical research in a hospital setting. Further, the elective courses will provide additional competency of the graduates in the areas of specialisation and contemporary significance.
The students will undertake clerkship and clinical rotations in hospitals in Oman and abroad to gain clinical competency and to resolve pharmaceutical care challenges in clinical settings.
The program is featured with a flexible delivery model that will suit the front-line healthcare workers and working professionals.
Students who successfully complete 42 credits will be awarded MSc Degree in Clinical Pharmacy by National University of Science & Technology
