The aim of the workshop was to increase awareness and understanding of entrepreneurship in Oman. The session started with a definition of entrepreneurship and discussed its importance in creating jobs, growing the economy, and improving competitiveness. It also explained the difference between traditional and modern types of entrepreneurships.
The workshop covered different ways to fund mechanisms and resources and explained the stages of investment, including what investors look for from the idea stage to business growth. It also highlighted support programs offered by the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development to help entrepreneurs succeed. The last presentation was related to the success story by Mr. Hazaa Al Rushadi, founder of Al Madawi company. He explained how he started, the obstacles he faced and how he reached to the present stage. He also mentioned about support from Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development. Students and faculty participated in a group competition, and the workshop ended with a quiz to review the main topics.
