College of pharmacy students and faculty attended the Oman International Pharmacy Congress and Exhibition (OIPCX), held from 7th to 9th April 2025 at the Mandarin oriental hotel, muscat. The congress, organized by the Directorate General of Medical Supplies (DGMS), MoH. featured a rich program of sessions, workshops, and exhibitions. A total of 38 students and 13 faculty members from the college benefitted from the congress. Five dedicated students volunteered their time to support organizational and logistical activities throughout the event. The sessions offered valuable insights into topics such as clinical audit in advancing quality and safety in healthcare services, advancements in pharmacy education and practice, and international standards and best practices in medication safety etc. International speakers shared insights on pressing global practices, including the development of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) frameworks in the middle east, the integration of artificial intelligence in pharmacy practice, and strategies for improving clinical care through audits and value-based approaches. Other key discussions focused on antimicrobial stewardship programs, patient-centered outcomes, and the economic implications of disease management on healthcare systems. This exposure provided the faculty and students with a comprehensive understanding of current global trends and best practices in the field of pharmacy, encouraging them to adopt innovative approaches in education, research, and clinical practice.
