Research Labs

Pharmacology and Biological Sciences lab

The lab is well equipped for research which involves preparation and Pharmacological evaluation of nano formulations, microbiological, pharmacological and toxicological studies using various state of art facilities. All aspects of safety and waste disposal measures are strictly followed to ensure a safe environment for all users.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab

The lab in Pharmaceutical Chemistry focuses on two primary thrust research areas namely Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry and Herbal Research (Phytochemistry). The Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry areas are focused on Designing and development of heterocyclic compounds using both conventional methods and microwave-assisted synthesis adopting a green chemistry approach, purification and purity assessment, characterization of the synthesized compounds with the help of IR and UV spectrophotometers etc., and In vitro biological evaluation. The Herbal Research (Phytochemistry) area concentrates on preparation of plant extracts using conventional extraction techniques such as Soxhlet, maceration followed by concentration by Vacuum Rota evaporator, isolation of volatile oil by Clevenger apparatus, formulation of Herbal preparations, and in vitro biological evaluation. The research lab promotes research and innovation in the field of phytochemicals and pharmacological activity of medicinal plants.

Pharmaceutics labs

The research lab promotes research and innovation in the field of formulating and evaluating formulations, including new drug delivery systems. Cosmetic formulations including herbal preparations are prepared and evaluated. The Bioequivalence studies are carried out to ensure that different formulations meet the quality standards and are safe to use. The Research labs are equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities and have major Research equipment, including a Dissolution test apparatus with external bath circulator (SC/TR)-DS 8000, Tablet disintegration tester, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR), Ultrasonic Bath (Daiban- WUC-D03H), 96 Micro Plate Reader device, Shimadzu UV-VIS spectrophotometer-19001, Micron Laser Particle Size Analyzer, Flame photometer, Diffusion Cell Apparatus Orchid (IND) EMFDC06-O30, Freeze dryer, Microwave for Synthesis, Texture analyzer, lyophilizer, incubators, orbital shakers, homogenizers, bench centrifuges, Clevenger apparatus, biosafety cabinet, autoclave, water distillation unit, deep freeze unit, centrifuges etc.

Clinical Skills lab and Model Pharmacy

The Clinical Skills Lab is a key facility supporting the development of clinical competence among pharmacy students. With a total area of 67 square feet and a seating capacity of 25, the lab is designed to simulate real-world healthcare environments, allowing students to engage in hands-on, experiential learning and health outcomes research. It is fully equipped with mannequins, patient beds, medication trolleys, and a dedicated Drug Information Corner containing up-to-date reference materials. The lab and Model Pharmacy integrate advanced digital tools to enhance student learning such as "Pharmacy Simulator software" and the globally recognized "MyDispense platform". The Clinical Skills Lab serves as a practical training space where students can build confidence and readiness for direct patient care.
