College of Pharmacy students accompanied by Dr. Yaman Kassab participated in the 12th National Bioethics Committee Intellectual Forum held on 19/2/2025 at Sultan Qaboos University Conference Hall under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
The forum brought together experts, policymakers, and healthcare professionals to discuss the ethical dimensions of elderly care. The forum addressed key challenges and responsibilities at the governmental, societal, and individual levels. It reinforced the need for a collaborative approach to elderly care, integrating medical, social, and legal perspectives. It emphasized strengthening institutional support, improving ethical guidelines, and enhancing community awareness.
The participation of pharmacy students provided an opportunity to understand the ethical complexities of aging and the responsibilities of different stakeholders in ensuring dignified care for the elderly.
