IMechE student’s chapter at Department of Mechanical and Industrial engineering in association with other student professional societies ASME, SPE and AICHE of the MIE department organized a webinar “Oman Industries and Industry types for aspiring Engineers” on 28th September 2020 for the benefit of the student community. This was one of the first webinar organized to support “Industrial Internship module of level 4 for the aspiring engineers.
This webinar expert talk was develited by one of the leading professional engineer Dr M Ramaswamy. Dr Ramwasamy has earned Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India in Mechanical Engineering and has over 36 years professional experiences in various areas of Engineering. The webinar covered a brief introduction about the different branches of engineering across various industries present in Oman along with their line of activities. He also als highlighted with the job opportunities in the industries for the aspiring engineers with the future of engineers in Sultanate of Oman. More than 90 IMechE student chapter members and level 4 students and staff participated in this event. The session was started with the welcome address by the IMechE staff advisor followed with the introducing the expert. And ended with the vote of thanks by the IMechE student member. The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering acknowledges all participants and extends sincere applications to the guest speaker Dr M Ramaswamy for his consent to deliver this webinar for the benefit of the student community.
