The National University of Science and Technology celebrated its annual (University Day) under the patronage of Her Excellency Prof Dr. Rahma Bint Ibrahim AL Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, which coincides with the “6th National Lecture Series”. The National University of Science and Technology has commenced its operations in 2018 as a multidisciplinary academic initiative established by the merger of three renowned professional institutions in Oman including the Caledonian College of Engineering in addition to the Maritime college , The College of Advanced Technology and the School of Foundation Studies. This official ceremony coincides with the march of higher education in light of the blessed renaissance during the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik Bin Taymour – Sultan of Oman, may Allah protect him. The ceremony was be attended by a group of officials of their Excellences, ambassadors, lecturers, and businessmen, founders of the university, BoD & BoT Members and Faculty, Employees and students. The National University has decided to celebrate University’s Day in December of every year, in celebration of the anniversary’s official launch in 2018. This year’s celebration included two lectures the first entitled (Society and Technology – Learnings for the Future” by Mr. APM Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary to Government of Kerela and the 2nd Lecture entitled “Impact of integrated logistics supply chains on Oman trade” presented by Mr. Yazin Al Busaidi, Business development Manager, Asyad Corporate. During the ceremony, distinguished academics, students and employees were honored.
