The purpose of this review is to discuss different concepts regarding academic advising and its importance for higher education students. It is essential to understand the role academic advising can play in the progress of students, the legal and moral guidelines set to support this practice and the role of the students themselves in order to take full advantage of it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
