Department of Mechanical and Industrial Hosts an Online Guest lecture on “Understanding responsibilities in HSM”

This lecture was presented by Engr. Mohammed Muhana Suliman , HSE Consultant & Trainer, Samara Training Services, Al-Udhaibah North, Muscat, Oman. Engr, Mohammed has vast experience in Health Safety and Management and has various memberships in the area of HSM.

16.5pt;background:white'>The expert lecture covered the various aspects includes, managing safety and health, legal and contract management, occupational responsibilities, risk assessment to find out the hazards and risks in their workplace(s) and put measures in place to effectively control them to ensure these hazards and risks cannot cause harm to workers. He also emphases the following key responsibilities in Health Safety and Management system.

Formulate policies and procedures. 

Conducting risk assessments and frequent safety inspections and checks. 

Understand the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

Develop a correct procedure for reporting accidents and possible responsiblities 

Respond to any safety complaints and concerns raised by employees. 

Responsibility for first aid procedures, including employee first aid training

Manage emergency procedures, such as fire alarm drills.

Criminal Vs Civil law

Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, etc.

The session was ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Nabila and Ms.Noura.
