AIChE student chapter of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Hosts a Webinar on “Professional Ethics at the workplace”

American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) student chapter at Department of Mechanical and Industrial engineering successfully organized a webinar “Professional Ethics at the workplace” on 8th October 2020 at 11.00 am, for the benefit of the student community. This webinar was presented by one of our University Alumni student Engineer Salim AL Shukaili, Process Optimization Engineer, PDO, Oman. Eng. Salim has 13 years of experience in Oil and Gas industries and worked at various positions at PDO, Oman. 

 

  

American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) student chapter at Department of Mechanical and Industrial engineering successfully organized a webinar “Professional Ethics at the workplace” on 8th October 2020 at 11.00 am, for the benefit of the student community. This webinar was presented by one of our University Alumni student Engineer Salim AL Shukaili, Process Optimization Engineer, PDO, Oman. Eng. Salim has 13 years of experience in Oil and Gas industries and worked at various positions at PDO, Oman.

The webinar covered the code of ethics and professional conduct outlines the ethical principles that govern decisions and behaviour at a company or organization. The general outlines of how employees should behave, as well as specific guidance for handling issues like harassment, safety, and conflicts of interest. The ethical implications of recent changes in social work, particularly concerning the conception of social workers as professionals guided by a code of ethics. It also highlighted the professionalism is the conduct, aims or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or professional person; it implies the quality of workmanship or service. 

More than 40 professional student chapter members, students and staff participated in this event. Response from the students was encouraging as they responded that this webinar was very useful to enhance their knowledge in this field. The session was ended with the vote of thanks by Ms Sonia. The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering acknowledges all participants and extends sincere applications to the guest speaker Mr. Salim for his consent to deliver this webinar for the benefit of the student community. Also, the department would like to thank AIChE Student chapter for their efforts in successfully organizing the webinar.
