Oral examination (viva) has been used as an important tool to evaluate various orders of cognitive domain amongst medical students for decades. However, its objectivity and reliability have been increasingly questioned by experts.1 Standardised oral examination is considered superior to traditional viva with higher overall and inter-rater reliabilities.2<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In view of the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19, we designed an online format of clinical assessment called \u2018structured online viva examination\u2019 (STOVE), based on the principles of structured oral assessment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
