{"id":11868,"date":"2025-09-22T16:44:56","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T12:44:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nu.edu.om\/?p=11868"},"modified":"2025-10-13T11:39:04","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T11:39:04","slug":"student-orientation-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nu.edu.om\/engineering\/student-orientation-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Orientation Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-OM;\">The College of Engineering at the National University of Science and Technology organized the Engineering Orientation Programme and Induction for newly admitted students from 22 to 24 September 2025 at the Caledonian Campus, in the Grand Assembly Hall. The three-day programme targeted newly enrolled undergraduate students, aiming to introduce them to the academic and administrative systems, as well as the support services that would constitute an essential part of their university journey.<\/p>\n<p>The orientation began with welcome addresses by Professor Ahmed Al Balushi, Dean of the College of Engineering, who highlighted the significance of this four-year journey in shaping students&rsquo; future and how the university supports their aspirations. Interactive sessions followed, covering key areas such as academic advising, student support services, research and entrepreneurship opportunities, IT and library facilities, and the College&rsquo;s health, safety, and laboratory protocols. Students also engaged with the Student Advisory Council (SAC) through activities, club sign-ups, and campus tours.<\/p>\n<p>Students were given a day-long department-specific induction by their respective departments to familiarise them with the facilities and opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>As mandated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MOHERI), student orientation is a vital requirement that ensures learners are fully informed about academic regulations, assessment policies, the student code of conduct, and available opportunities.
